Our Story
How a 35-year-old idea found its way back into the world.
Back in the late 1980s, long before the internet was a thing most people had heard of, there was a little newsletter called Mondayitis.
Every Monday — without fail — it appeared with one thing inside: an inspirational story. Nothing fancy, nothing long. Just a true, warm story to start the week with. The idea was simple: Monday is the day the world feels heaviest. The weekend is over, the week looms ahead, and for a few hours the heart could use a little company.
That newsletter became a ritual. Readers would open it with their first coffee, read one story, and carry it with them through the whole week. A story about a small kindness. A story about courage when everything seemed lost. A story that said: you are not alone, and the week ahead is full of possibility.
Decades later, the world moved online — but the Monday feeling never changed. So Mondayitis is back, rebuilt for the internet age. Same promise, same gentle spirit:
Today's stories come from the public domain — the great treasure-house of human storytelling. O. Henry, Tolstoy, Oscar Wilde, Hans Christian Andersen, the Brothers Grimm, Aesop, and the anonymous storytellers whose names history forgot but whose tales it never could.
These are the stories that have warmed hearts for a hundred years and more. They cost nothing to share. They never run out. And somehow, they always arrive exactly when you need them.
So here we are again. It's Monday somewhere in the world, and there's a story waiting. ☕🌞
